Homeopathy is a safe, effective path to optimum health and while I have proven that to my patients and myself over the years, there are still many naysayers. Recently these naysayers were featured in a prominent Canadian TV broadcast. I think this show has done a great disservice by perhaps discouraging people from seeking homeopathic treatment, even though standard medicine with its heavy reliance on pharmaceuticals and its frequent disregard for the mind-body connection, has failed to help these individuals with their problems.
To counteract the negativity and skepticism I have launched a 6-month study in conjunction with other members of the homeopathic community that will demonstrate homeopathy does work. This study will address one of the greatest health epidemics today – obesity.
Traditional diet and exercise alone cannot remedy a very common, but mostly undiagnosed problem in the thyroid that leads to obesity. My project will follow 30 women who have been overweight for at least ten years or more and have never succeeded at weight loss. The key hindrance to their weight loss will be identified and steps will be taken to remove whatever is impeding their health and stressing the body.
These women will receive their constitutional remedy along with a homeopathic remedy to support the thyroid, and expectations are that they will finally be able to lose weight. To further facilitate the weight loss each candidate will be asked to eat according to their blood type and their exercise options will also compliment their blood type.
This project will run for 6 months and the patients will be seen every 2 weeks for the first three months and then every 3 weeks until the end of September.
The information collected from participants in the study will include:
o Body ph
o Body fat
o Lean muscle mass
o Visceral fat (the fat around the organs in the waist region)
o Measurement for waist
o Measurement for bust
o Measurement for hip
o Blood pressure
I will post the results at intervals on this site. The participants will each be assigned a case study number and referred to here by that number rather than name, to protect their privacy. Participants will know only their own case study number but can also monitor progress of the whole study here.
